Parks in Michigan

My husband and I have had to experience many relocations during his career, so I am aware of how hard it can be adjusting to a new place.  I have always loved exploring the parks of all the states we have lived in.

There is always something interesting to find to do, and it would give me an enjoyable activity to look forward to.

Something for Everyone

One of the best places for anyone whois new to Michigan life to visit is our county parks.  Michigan parks and recreation department is one of the best I have experienced in all of my relocations. There is so much to see, and so many activities to do for the whole family.

 Waterparks, Beaches and Nature trails

Kensington park is one of my favorites.  It has two beaches, and a huge waterpark for the kids!  Families can pack a lunch and eat at in the picnic area while the kids play in the splash and slide areas.  They also have wonderful hiking trails that allow the family to explore the natural habitats of small wildlife.

When my grandchildren were young, we would spend the whole day at the waterpark.  Now that they are older, we spend more time in the beach areas and riding our bikes on the trails.  My husband and I love to hike on the winding trails that surround the peaceful lakes....even during the winter months.

I think that what I most appreciate about the parks of Michigan is that, within a short driving distance, families have an opportunity to "get-a-way" from city life and relax.  And, regardless of the season, there is always something to explore!
