Michigan Snow is Very Heavy.
I heard Michigan has traditional snowshoes for trekking in deep snow. I found The Heritage Park as a result of my looking around for a park to do this activity.
First of all, I did book a snow shoes track event via their homepage. Here are the details for the event:
Snow shoes track event is $5 per person.
And shoes rental cost is $5.
This event is only one day. (2.14.2021)
It seems like skies. Traditional snowshoes are made of wood, but the rental shoes are made of stainless steel. They have hooks on the bottom to that they do not slip on snowy roads. These shoes are uncomfortable.
My son was very determined to learn how to walk in the snowshoes (he wanted to give up, but he endured it and made it through). We saw deer during our trekking event...we were so surprised!
This event was the best time for me and my family.
Heritage Park has many programs all year, so visit the website for more information.

I saw some people was putting the snow shoes at the park, but I didn't find out it at that time.
ReplyDeleteI'll enjoy this event at the Heritage park next winter. Thanks for good news!
I have friends that work at the Heritage Park and they were very pleased that you and your family had such a great time. So glad you found this event. I must try it myself next time!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your Michigan shoe tracking information. I didn't know that before. I got a new thing about Michigan from you.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been a really good experience for Ayden. I want to give my kids that experience as well.
ReplyDeleteI am glad your son persisted and had a good experience snowshoeing. There is also a sledding hill in Heritage Park that lots of kids enjoy on snowy days in the winter. It was nice to have so much snow to play in during February this year. Hopefully we will be able to tuck our snow coats away soon!
